Second Brain

Your Obsidian vault becomes the memory behind every answer. AyCode finds the notes that fit, shows which it used, and lets agents add to them.

Notes in every answer

AyCode indexes your vault in the background, in its own thread, so the app never waits for it. Each message automatically gets the notes that fit, their neighbours in the graph and saved memories. Which notes they were is listed under the message.

  • Use @ to attach notes on purpose. Notes with a typ: property can be searched by type, e.g. @kunde:mül.
  • The Brain switch in the input field turns the automatic notes off. Short messages like “OK” or “Thanks” get none anyway.
  • Set how many notes a message gets and where memories live under Settings → Second Brain.

The Brain panel

⌘⇧B opens the Brain panel next to the chat: related notes with their neighbourhood, a search, and the notes used in this turn.

The Brain panel shows the neighbourhood of the notes the chat is about.

The graph

⌘G opens your whole vault as a living map. Folders become coloured regions, links become lines.

The graph with folders as regions and the overview card with the most-linked notes.
  • Überblick (overview): the most-linked notes, what changed this week, and notes without any link.
  • Filter by time (always, 30 days, 7 days) or by tag. Alt-click a folder to see only that folder.
  • Weg zu … (path to) lights up the shortest chain of links between two notes.

Writing back to the vault

  • Als Notiz speichern under an answer saves it as a new note.
  • Agents can propose changes to a note. They arrive as a card with Übernehmen (apply) and Verwerfen (discard).
  • A comment on a diff can be kept in the Brain too (see Changes).
  • Agents reach your notes through the built-in MCP server aycode-brain.

AyCode never overwrites a note without asking, and the vault is only read during imports.
