Start here
- Download AyCode for macOS (Apple Silicon) or Windows from aycode.app and open it.
- Follow the short tour: connect your notes folder, allow microphone and notifications if you want them, and let AyCode find the agent apps you already have.
- Type what should happen into the big field on the start screen, pick a model and press Enter. That is a chat.
The app itself speaks German today. Settings and the main menu are already available in English, the rest follows. These docs name each button the way the app shows it, with the English meaning next to it.

The ideas behind it
- One app, every agent. Each provider runs in its own process. A provider that hangs only blocks its own chat, never the window.
- Your notes are the memory. AyCode reads your vault in the background and hands each message the notes that fit.
- Silence is not success. If a provider returns nothing, the chat says why, instead of showing an empty answer.
- You stay in control. Agents ask before risky steps, and nothing leaves your computer that you did not send.
