Ask your agent from any app

Press ⌥Space in whatever app you are in, and a small box floats in on Liquid Glass. Ask something quick, or give an agent a task in a project, without leaving the window you are working in.

What does --frozen-lockfile do?

It installs exactly what the lockfile says and fails instead of updating it.

A question should not cost a window switch

Most questions are small: what does this flag do, how is this written in Swift, what did we decide about the cache. The quick chat answers them where you are. Enter asks a quick question, ⌘Enter starts a real chat with an agent in the chosen project, and Esc closes the box.

Inside AyCode the same box opens with ⌘⇧K or /q, and from the Island at the notch. The key can be changed under Settings → Quick chat.

Made to feel light

On macOS 26 the window sits on real Liquid Glass; older Macs get the system’s vibrancy and Windows 11 gets Acrylic. It fades up and settles into place, the field, the answer and the choices follow one after another, and the AyCode mark turns into a thinking orb while an answer comes. With reduced motion turned on, all of that is skipped.

Questions and answers

Which agents can the quick chat use?

Every agent you have set up in AyCode. You pick the agent and the project in the box itself.

Does it work on Windows?

Yes, with Alt+Space. On Windows 11 the box uses the Acrylic material; elsewhere it shows a solid card.

Try it on your own projects.

Free for macOS and Windows. Uses the agents and subscriptions you already have.
